This 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door is a rare and striking build, finished in black pearl paint with a contrasting cream roof. Restored between 2012 and 2014 by Coastal Customs, this classic two-door coupe offers exceptional road presence and proven long-distance reliability.
Under the bonnet sits a 6.3-litre (383 ci) Oldsmobile V8 engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The gearbox features an electronic overdrive (currently unconnected), and functions smoothly as a 3-speed unit. Standard suspension and refurbished brakes handle stopping and ride duties. Proven on the road, the car has successfully completed three South Cape Old Car Club Heritage Tours, covering distances between 1,200 km and 1,600 km per trip.
Inside, the cabin features a restored black vinyl interior with front split-bench seating, clean black carpeting, and an imported US gauge cluster set into the original dash layout. All glass remains fully intact with no cracks. The car rides on chrome deep-dish wheels with near-new whitewall tyres.
Minor noted items include a small gearbox oil leak near the speedometer cable point. The vehicle is licensed, registered, and retains solid mechanical condition throughout.
